Very active and working from home!

Pet care experience

Because I am a graduate student conducting research from home, I have plenty of time to devote to caring for a dog (or dogs). My playful and friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I will ensure your dog is loved and also gets his/her exercise! While I live in an apartment, I have direct access to a patio with a privacy fence and enjoy taking walks and visiting local dog parks. The apartment is spacious enough that it has accommodated larger dogs such as an Old English Sheepdog, Doberman, and Newfoundland. I enjoy playing fetch with my dog but will be happy to engage in any play your dog loves. Please provide your dog's, food, any medications, and feel free to bring any bedding and toys your dog loves! I have extra leashes, bowls, and a medium size kennel but any extra items should be provided with the dog. I am happy to bathe your dog for an additional $10 for dogs under 25lbs, $15 for dogs 25-60lbs and $20 for dogs over 60lbs. Unfortunately, while I personally love Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Rottweilers, they are prohibited at my apartment complex. Why I love dog sitting I've grown up with dogs all my life and have been a primary dog owner for five years. I have a special affection for Golden Retrievers thanks to my beloved childhood dog, but love basically every dog I see. I've also trained my own dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry through the Gentle Dog Training program. Henry often accompanies me on errands or even road trips and I am a strong believer in treating my dog as a companion, not just a house pet. About my yard I have a small (approximately 15' x 10') wood deck surrounded by a rock garden with a tree and tall privacy fence. Just outside the fence is grass. My experience administering medication I have experience administering oral and topical medication to dogs, but written instructions should be always provided with any medications the dog needs.

Claire was wonderful to work with and everything went very smoothly. We had some last minute travel plans and reached out to her just a couple days before we were going out of town. She responded immediately and was very flexible during the entire time. She provided pictures of Wilson and updated us on how his stay went with her. Wilson was very comfortable and happy at her home and we will defiantly be using her services again the next time we go out of town.

Claire was awesome! She was great at communicating, sent us pictures of Ruby our dog to let us know how she was doing and was so easy and flexible to work with. We will be using her time and time again.

Claire was easy to work with and it seems that our Annie had a great stay! Annie went on many walks and visited the dog park. Will definitely use Claire again!

Information Claire U. would like to know about your pet

If possible, I prefer to meet the dog before dog sitting, especially to give your dog and mine an opportunity to meet. I am open to any dog breeds but unfortunately cannot accept Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Rottweilers. Additionally, I have experience caring for deaf and senior dogs.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I often walk my dog along the neighborhood side streets, although we also visit Loose Park, Leawoof dog Park, Shawnee Mission Park, and the Swope Park dog park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Generally, I yield to the preference of the owner. I will kennel a dog for the night if that is your preference, but usually have my dog sleep on his bed on the floor in my bedroom or sometimes at the end of the bed. Time I'll spend with your dog As I am a graduate student, I am physically home for a large portion of the day. I usually work for 2-3 hours at a time, stopping occasionally for breaks, during which time I often play with my dog or walk him and therefore would be happy to do the same for yours. Henry and I also usually play a game of fetch before bed.
