Hello! I would like to offer my home (couches included) and backyard to your dog while you are out of town, at work, or just need a break! My home won't have jungle gyms and spa services for your dog, but it will be safe, have plenty of treats and toys, and lots of love and active obedience. As a single doggie mom myself, my goal is to keep your pups' daycare costs as low as possible while still being able to provide all the simple ingredients to a happy and healthy dog!
About this sitter:
I am a nature lover and animal/dog enthusiast. When I'm not hanging out with my canine friends I am helping out on a friend's farm in Gaston, taking long hikes with my hound dog Amelia, or doing some gardening. I am definitely a people person, but the joy and challenges our canine companions bring me is not only what I want to focus my career on, it's what I have the most passion towards.
My love for dogs began with my family rescuing our Dalmatian Spot from an abusive owner. After spot, came many more adopted dogs and rescues in the San Diego area. I have since mothered and dog sat for coworkers' and friends' dogs for the last 10 years. I am a Volunteer for PAW in Portland, working in the free clinics for homeless dogs and their owners.
I welcome all breeds. Just be honest and upfront about special needs dogs including needs related to health, injuries, or temperament.
The entire day, with other dogs as well.
The backyard is fully fenced with a sturdy 6 foot chain link fence. I have recently spread wood chips throughout the yard-leaving the other part grassed. Included in the backyard is a large covered wood deck which can be closed off for rest time and training. Gigantic Cedar trees border the perimeter leaving a complete canopy from rain and plenty of shade! My lot is zoned R-2, making it a fairly large backyard.
Your dog/dogs will sleep inside my home in the winter, with full access outside via doggie doors through the garage.
I would most likely walk the dogs along the springwater corridor behind my home. You let me know what your dog's walking schedule is and we'll stick to that!
