Different for each dog. Some dogs hate staying alone at night, so if a sleep over is required, that is totally understandable. Others need lots of exercise. Three or four half hour walks a day will keep them in a happy frame of mind, and feel less likely to chew up the shoes and couch legs to get back at you for leaving them behind.
