Hello,
I attended Vet Tech school and volunteered at the San Francisco SPCA walking the shelter dogs, assisting the dog training classes and introducing dogs to potential adopters. While attending Vet Tech school, I did rotations in three Veterinary Hospitals in San Francisco.
I'm very patient and have experience with shy and fearful dogs.
I also have two cats who are used to guest dogs.

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I've been a dog lover my whole life. When I was 8 years old, my brother would always bring his girlfriend's great dane, Laika to visit and I would walk her several times a day. And when I was 9 he gave me an English Cocker Spaniel, Sally Brown, the love of my life. Growing up we had guinea pigs and bunnies and even a duck as well. Now, I have 2 cats, Roscoe and Filomena.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

I love all breeds from tiny ones to giant Great Danes. I'd like to know details about the dog's personality, daily schedule, routine and preferences. Favorite food and treats, as well as activities. Allergies and medications.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes, I do. I always have a nice cozy blanket on the back seat of my car for dogs.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Yes, I am. I attended vet tech school and did rotations in three veterinary hospitals in San Francisco.

Where will my dog sleep?

My fiance and I recently hired Barbara to watch our two young dachshunds while we traveled East for four days to attend a wedding, and I couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Before agreeing to watch them, Barbara wanted to visit with us, and make sure the dogs felt comfortable with her, and we had the opportunity to talk. She arrived with a notepad, on which she took detailed notes regarding the dogs sleep and walk schedule, nutrition, and other particulars. The dogs, who can occasionally be a bit nervous, were very comfortable in her presence, and her calm demeanor and professionalism made me feel the same about having her visit our home while we were away. She works remotely for much of her time, so she offered to work from our home to give the dogs as much of her time as possible - something that we all appreciated. My younger dog, Audrey is still a puppy, and uses pee pads - however, Barbara was happy to accommodate this, and I returned to a clean home and two happy, healthy pups. While we were gone, she sent me daily emails and a photo to let me know how they were doing. Additionally, she confirmed that we had boarded our return flight and would be home as scheduled before leaving our keys, so that the dogs would not be unattended in an emergency. I have nothing but good things to say about Barbara, and would recommend her for any time you need a sitter. (Collapse)
