Description:

While in my home, your dog is an important member of the family. I have created a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for the dogs. I generally take 3-5 dogs at a time, the perfect number for optimal socialization without it being overwhelming for them. Plenty of exercise, attention, and affection is given at your dog's home away from home.

My goal is to provide an alternative to the traditional kennels and dog boarding facilities that can make some dogs anxious, scared, or stressed. The dogs respond well to the homey atmosphere and fall right into our healthy, active routine. Your dog is encouraged to make themselves right at home and enjoy their time here.

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I have always been an animal lover and have had animals all my life. My educational background is in Applied Social Sciences with an emphasis in Non-Profit Management, and I have worked/volunteered in the animal rescue/adoption field for years. I am currently earning my dog training certification in addition to the self-taught skills I have acquired through the 30+years of raising animals.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

Does/is your dog...

Have any history of general aggression towards people or animals? Food/toy aggression?

Have any dietary restrictions/food allergies?

House/potty trained?

Know any commands/words? Any specific training?

Have any medical conditions?

Spayed/neutered?

Are they current on shots?

Are they on heartworm and/or flea preventative medication?

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

I do have reliable transportation in case of emergency. I will have your vet's info, and I also live less than five minutes away from Fort Collins Vet Emergency & Rehabilitation Hospital, a 24 hour emergency animal hospital.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

I have administered different medication to many types of dogs and I am comfortable giving your dogs whatever medication they need.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

My entire day is dedicated to the care of the dogs in my home. This is my full time job so I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be with the dogs throughout the day. I supervise all mealtimes and playtimes, and I am engaged with the dogs always.

The only time your dog would possibly be alone is if I had to walk dog(s) separately or if I had to run a quick errand, 20-30 minutes tops. If your dog can be unsupervised for that long they can hang out in the house, no access to doggy door/outside. If they cannot be unsupervised (aggression, chewing, "marking their area") they would be crated for those 20-30 minutes.

If you have a backyard, please describe it.

The yard has two patios--one measuring ~20'x17', a great place to play ball and hang out. The second patio measures ~10'x15' and is located right off the front door. There is an extra large doggy door, so the dogs have constant access to the yard during the day.

In addition to the two patios and fenced-in vegetable garden separating the patios, there is a separate gravel "potty" area measuring ~10x15 and a 40' gravel dog run along the side of the house.

The entire yard is fenced-in with 6' privacy fences and locked from the inside. There are gates separating the four separate areas of the yard -- dog run, patio/potty area off living room, garden, large courtyard/patio off the entrance --. The gates are utilized for safety during drop-offs and pick-ups, always ensuring the dogs are securely fenced in and have zero opportunity of getting out.

The dogs really enjoy the unique open space, and the freedom to go inside and out on their own. The yard is set up in a way that is extremely dog-friendly and I am able to supervise play in every area at once.

Where will my dog sleep?

There are many very comfortable options for napping/sleeping areas, and I allow the dogs to choose where the sleep as long as they can be unsupervised at night (no aggressive behavior, chewing, or "marking their area"). There are two couches in the main living/office area and a large window seat in my bedroom. There are also crates with bedding in the bedroom if that is something the dog prefers. I also provide dog beds/blankets, or you can bring theirs from home.

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

My area is great for walking dogs and I have the opportunity to take the dogs for walks often. I am on the Spring Creek Trail/Spring Park so the dogs and I spend much of our time there. For safety, all dogs are on harnesses and remain on leash at all times during walks. I will provide the harness if your dog does not have one.

I am also a few blocks away from the dog park on Lake Street and will take the dogs there during the hours of the day it is not very crowded. It is a nice, quiet, fenced-in park that is great place to run and play ball.

Amy was wonderful as always! Burt loves his stays with Amy!
This was my first time ever leaving my dogs with a pet sitter and Amy made it painless. Updates and pictures were an awesome way to still feel connected to them. I didn't feel anxious or worried and they came home happy and healthy, what a relief! The house and yard were set up for animals and they seemed to enjoy their stay. Would recommend to others.
I felt super comfortable leaving Henry with Amy in her home for the first time. She sent me updates and pictures that made me feel at ease - I could definitely see that Henry was having a great time with the other dogs. Amy was flexible in the pick up/drop off times. When I picked Henry up, I immediately knew he had a great time by his demeanor. I will definitely use Amy's services again - I could not be happier! (Collapse)
Another spectacular stay with Amy!
Amy has had Lucy now many times and I love the fact she had a couple of other dogs her size to play with. Lucy loved it! I love the fact I don't worry about her when I leave her with Amy. Great job. I will use her when I leave town again

Amy did such an amazing job dog siting my Briar. I was a little worried leaving my dog with a stranger but she had me go over to her house and meet with her to make sure they would be a good fit. I was so thankful Amy kept me posted every day with pictures and updates how Briar was doing through Rover.com. It's been over a week since I've picked briar up and I'm pretty sure he is still tired from his play date at Amy's! (Collapse)

Oreo spent a week in Amy's house. I think he had a good time. I will definitely go back if I have to board Oreo again.

My dog Skittles had a wonderful time at Amy's place! She is a small dog and often gets anxious around other dogs, but she felt at ease in Amy's care and her cozy home. She enjoyed being able to have space indoors and outdoors. Amy was very accommodating for Skittles' need for her own space while eating. Amy was great about giving me status updates and pictures so I knew Skittles was perfectly happy and healthy while I was away! (Collapse)
Amy always takes such great care of Gemma. She loves the company of the other dogs in Amy's care. Amy's home and yard are set up with such care and consideration for the the job of boarding dogs well. Thank You AMY!!

Amy is a wonderful pet sitter. She stayed with my black lab while we were out of town on vacation for a week. My dog is very needy and has special dietary needs and Amy was able to work with both. We felt really good about how well she interacted with our dog and it really put us at ease so we could enjoy ourselves knowing that our dog was safe and happy at home rather than at a kennel. She was good about emailing us updates and that really helped while we were gone. I will definitely use Amy again when we go out of town and I am more than happy to recommend her to others in need of a really good pet sitter. (Collapse)

Burt, my dog, stayed at Amy's house for the day while we went skiing. Amy let us drop him off as early as we want was very flexible about when we could pick him up. Burt was exhausted and very happy when I brought him back home. It was great to have a tired puppy! Definitely going to use Amy again!

I have known Amy for several years and can say that her knowledge of pet care is vast and that she is always the first choice for watching my dog when I'm away. My dog is always happy after a stay with Amy :)

I recently moved to Colorado with my Dog Toby. I was very nervous to leave Toby with anyone as he is my only child. He has only had one other dog sitter before. Amy made sure we met before any appointment was set which I loved. She was dogsitting a new dog and wanted to make sure that dog would be comfortable and used to his surroundings before we came to visit which I was very impressed with. Not every Dog loves other Dogs. When we met Amy she was so friendly and welcoming and her Dog and Toby just loved each other. I knew it was a great fit right away. Toby stayed there from Friday to Tuesday and Amy sent me pictures and texts on how he was doing. I loved it! When I came to get him he was pooped and clearly had a great time and was sad to leave his new friends. I have already scheduled the next visit and am so happy I found a place so great so soon! I highly recommend her. (Collapse)

Amy was kind enough to accomodate us on short notice. She sent us photos and updates. We know Hammie is well taken care of. Hammie loved it there. He went home tired. Next time we would need a sitter, we would definitely ask Amy first.

Found Amy on this site and arranged a visit, and have trusted her to watch my dog at least once a week for the past few months. She's very easy to get in touch with, has flexible scheduling, and most importantly my pup is always happy when I pick him up! Plenty of photo and text updates about their walks, hikes, and play time make me feel better when I'm out of town... I feel more comfortable leaving him with Amy for long weekends than I do leaving him at the local kennels because of the personal attention I know he'll get! (Collapse)
Amy is a wonderful pet sitter! This was Stella's first time away from home overnight since she was a little pup. When we picked her up she was worn out and happy! We are already planning her next stay! :)

I met Amy because we frequent the same dog park. She is often there with a group of dogs and she is always so great with them. She is engaging them the entire time and they have so much fun with her. I was always really impressed on how well she managed all the dogs, a real responsible dog owner. She has since become my sitter and my dog and I couldn't be happier with her! My dog clearly has a great time while he's with Amy and I feel at ease knowing he is in such great care! She's our gal!! (Collapse)
