Partnership with VetLIVE Offers Peace of Mind to Dog Owners and Sitters Alike

We are excited to announce a partnership with VetLIVE.com, a veterinarian owned and operated online resource offering advice from licensed veterinarians around the clock.

Rover.com members who opt-in for the service will now have 24-7 access to VetLIVE, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, get a second opinion or chat with veterinarians via the Internet. This new offering will help both pet owners and sitters identify any health problems early and avoid the expense of a potentially unnecessary trip to the vet office.

“Our partnership with VetLIVE enables our 60,000 members to make well-informed and confident decisions about the health of their dogs and those in their care when those unlikely instances in life happen,” said Aaron Easterly, CEO of Rover.com.“ This service is just another way Rover.com supports our sitters and delivers peace of mind to traveling dog owners.”

Rover.com members who opt-in for use of the service will be able to:

  • Consult with a licensed veterinarian online 24/7 to determine if a trip to a veterinary clinic is necessary
  • Receive general education on a dog’s health and upload photos or videos of their pet’s medical issues
  • Work with trained veterinarians to develop a plan to maximize their pet’s health outcome
  • Carry out a nutritional consult to determine the best food for their pet
  • Conduct a speed consultation in the event a dog eats an unsafe object or potentially toxic food or drug
  • Upload their pet’s medical records to receive a second opinion

.
Rover.com and VetLIVE share a commitment to the health of our dogs. “VetLIVE is currently the only 24/7 immediate response veterinary advice website that connects concerned pet parents with licensed veterinarians, allowing pet parents to address questions about their pet’s health and well-being,” said Dr. Laci Schaible, co-founder of VetLIVE. “It’s basically like having access to a team of vets at all times, which allows Rover.com members and all users the ability and confidence to make informed and educated decisions regarding their dog’s health.”

In addition to the option of a live chat with VetLIVE’s veterinarians, users will also receive an email and text message notification when their full pet health consultation is ready for review. This enables sitters and owners to receive real-time updates whenever and wherever users are located.

“Our new partnership with VetLIVE is not only helping Rover.com dog owners to become more educated on the current health of their pet, but we’re also securing the health of their dog while staying with a Rover.com sitter, giving owners the peace of mind they all crave while traveling,” added Easterly.
