For Valentine’s Day this year, Rover.com is running a special competition to celebrate the love between dogs and their humans. In 500 words or less and accomponied by a photo or video, Roverlutionaries from all over have taken a few moments to share with us whey their dog is the perfect Valentine’s Day date. Forget disgruntled dinners or wilting mail-order flowers, our dogs’ love for us has no bounds and requires nothing in return!

For a fun prelude to your Valentines day, be sure to check out our dog lovers entries below. And if your dog is the perfect Valentine, you still have time to enter the competition (through the end of day on the 13th!) via Facebook, Twitter or via email (valentines@rover.com!)

Be sure to share your entry with your friends and family and ask them to like, comment or share it and/or retweet it. Rover will present a group of finalists on this page on February 13 based on total positive feedback and the quality of the entry. The winners will be selected from the finalists based on the same criteria the day after Valentine’s day.

The best part, of course, is that winners will receive a howlingly good Grand Prize pack that includes: a one-night hotel stay (dog friendly of course!) in a fantastic hotel near to their home OR a free week of pet sitting from Rover.com while they are out in search of human companionship.
