tipping the sitter

has anyone tipped their sitter? Is that weird? I used the app for the first time yesterday and after I picked up my dog felt immediately guilty that I didn't have cash to tip (she didn't ask for one or look like she was searching for one- but she did such an amazing job and her rate is so low that I just wanted to throw her an extra $5 or so)

Hello Chris, I'm a sitter. Its not necessary to tip but it sure is nice to get one. I have a lot of pups that are high anxiety or special needs and if they were to board their dog it would be very expensive. My rates are fair so a little extra thank you makes it all worth it. I hope that helps. Amber G.

Yes, you should tip your sitter! This is no different then any other service based profession such as Hair Stylist, Manicurist, Groomer, Newscarrier, Car Valet, or Waiter/Waitress. A typical tip would be 15-20% for gratitude. A tip shows respect and appreciation for their trustworthy and professional efforts. I too love dogs and make this my only source of income so anything extra is MUCH APPRECIATED. Thank you to all of my current and future clients!
